The Challenge
The crossing ran under one of the Kingdom's busiest freight corridors, where an open-cut trench would have meant weeks of lane closures and a significant public-safety exposure. Existing utilities sat within two metres of the planned entry point, and the client required continuous highway operation throughout.
Our Approach
We mapped every buried service before mobilising, then set the bore profile 6.2 metres below the carriageway to clear all identified crossings with margin. A steered pilot bore was tracked continuously from the surface, enlarged across three reaming passes, and the carrier pipe was pulled back in a single uninterrupted operation.
The Outcome
Completed in 34 days with the highway fully open for the entire programme. As-built survey confirmed the pipe landed within 40mm of the design alignment, and no third-party utility was disturbed.
