The Challenge
The berth extension required foundation works below water level at an active port, where the working area had to be sealed against tidal ingress and kept clear for marine plant alongside.
Our Approach
A driven sheet pile cofferdam was set out to enclose the works, tied and sealed at the interlocks, then dewatered in stages to create a fully dry working platform for the foundation crews.
The Outcome
A dry, stable working area delivered in 38 days, allowing the foundation contractor to work conventional plant below water level without marine restrictions.
